Pat the Bunny Craft
This simple activity is a combination of a number of different bunny crafts found on Pinterest.
Note for other activities – the sticky side of contact paper is also an easy surface for collage activities and more.
You Will Need:
- Simple bunny template (many free versions are available on pinterest)
- Contact paper
- Glue*
- Tag board or construction paper
- Marker
- Scissors
- Cotton balls
* Test your glue to be sure it will stick to the shiny side of the contact paper to the tag board. (You want the sticky back of the contact paper facing up after gluing). Regular school glue may not hold well but other types of glue should work.
Directions:
In preparation:
- Trace the bunny template onto contact paper.
- Cut out the bunny and glue it, shiny contact paper side down, onto tag board or construction paper.
- Trace the outline with a marker.
When ready to do the craft:
- Remove the backing form the contact paper to reveal the sticky bunny shape.
- Have the child stick cotton balls onto the bunny. For more sensory and fine motor development, you can have your child gently stretch the cotton balls before applying them to the sticky rabbit. You will end up with a fluffy bunny!
