Morans Donate $200K to ParentChild+
MINEOLA, NY – September 26, 2022 – ParentChild+ is incredibly grateful to Lydia and Thomas Moran for their generous donation of $100,000 this year and their commitment of a second $100,000 in 2023. The Morans have made a powerful philanthropic commitment to supporting parents and caregivers in historically marginalized and ignored communities in preparing their children for school success. This commitment led to their critical support for ParentChild+’s work with home-based care providers and the families they care for in Santa Clara County.
Their support will enable ParentChild+’s Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County site to engage in 48 home visits focused on healthy child development, school readiness, family engagement and adult-child interaction with 40 home-based child care providers in the 2022-23 year and to ensure that the families of the children in care receive critical school readiness supports and materials. These 48 visits occur during the day, bringing professional development to home-based caregivers in their home language while they are caring for children. Caregivers receive high quality learning materials for their care environment and to send home to with the children. Parents receive information on school readiness, community supports, and the next educational step for their child. With the support of thoughtful philanthropists like Lydia and Thomas Moran, we are working together to support communities to child wellbeing and school and life success.
