Labor Day Fun
Labor Day is always celebrated the first Monday of September, and for many of us it marks the start of school and the end of summer vacation. It is also an important moment to acknowledge people across the country who work so hard in many different types of jobs to make sure we have food, health care, educations, roads, etc.
Talk to your child about all the things that people do all day, all the possible jobs they can do when they grow up. Help them imagine all the possible career paths they could pursue! Talk to them about what their family members do and the jobs of all the people they interact with every day, then read one of these fun books together, for lots more ideas.
Does your child want to a chef, an astronaut, a teacher, an artist, a nurse, a doctor, a PCHP Early Learning Specialist, or a writer, check out the “I Want to Be…” series by Dan Liebman, so they can learn about a variety of career options. You can also find some fun games and toys that highlight different jobs and make them come alive.
