The training of new ParentChild+ Coordinators is comprised of three phases:

Phase 1, Orientation to Program Implementation:

This workshop is required for all new Coordinators, including those from newly established ParentChild+ sites and external hires. It is specifically designed for individuals who are not yet familiar with the ParentChild+ model.

Phase 2, Intensive Foundational Training:

  • Over 30 hours of interactive learning on the home visiting model over six weeks, plus 9 additional hours for the Home-Based Child Care model. New Coordinators should also complete:
  • At least 12 hours of asynchronous online classes and readings on Elevate, our eLearning platform
  • At least 2-3 hours of DAISY Management Information System training within two weeks of the Institute
  • Approximately 6 hours of model-specific assessment training

Phase 3, Bi-weekly Community of Practice and Regional Site Support Meetings:

ParentChild+ offers approx. 24-36 hours more technical assistance over 6-7 months for support and strategy sharing. Coordinators will also attend regional State Director-led meetings and have access to additional professional development opportunities from the National Center.
