Emily Nixon
Emily joined the ParentChild+ National Center team in 2026 after nearly a decade supporting students and school systems through her work at the DC Public Education Fund. As Chief of Staff, she focuses on helping the organization translate its strategic vision into clear priorities, strong systems, and aligned day-to-day work across teams. She partners closely with the CEO and staff to support organizational effectiveness, strategic planning, and external relationships.
Emily was drawn to ParentChild+ because of its commitment to expanding opportunity for children and families through community-based partnerships and early learning. Throughout her career, she has been motivated by the belief that strong organizations are essential to creating meaningful, lasting change for students and families. She is excited to support ParentChild+ as it continues to grow its impact in communities across the country.
Prior to joining ParentChild+, Emily led operations, finance, and program strategy at the DC Public Education Fund, where she supported major initiatives designed to improve outcomes for students furthest from opportunity. She has experience managing complex partnerships, strengthening organizational infrastructure, and helping mission-driven teams grow sustainably. She also currently serves as Co-Chair of the Board of PACE (Parenting and Childhood Education), a nonprofit that provides educational and emotional support groups for new and second-time mothers in the DC-area.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys traveling, spending time outdoors, and exploring new places with her family. She is currently based in Washington, D.C.
