Kate Zmich
Kate joined the ParentChild+ National Center team in 2023 after working alongside families in Philadelphia, PA, for 11 years. Her main responsibility at the National Center is to listen to and amplify the voices of the ParentChild+ community to then share them with our stakeholders. She learned of the program in 2016 when she was the Director of Programs + Fun at Smith Memorial Playground. While there, she had the opportunity to partner on an initiative with ParentChild+’s Philadelphia sites. In that time she saw first-hand the profound impact of ParentChild+’s work with families and feels lucky to now be part of the National Center team!
Kate has a college degree and a background in how children learn through play, but learned the most from her time spent on the playground and with caregivers. When she’s not working she likes solving puzzles, dabbling in various crafts + gardening activities, and being outside. She lives in Philadelphia and her favorite book is usually the last one she read.
