GreenLight Fund makes $600K investment – first since tapping new leader
GreenLight Fund, just a few weeks after hiring Omar Woodard as its new executive director, has invested $600,000 in an evidence-based school readiness home visiting model called Parent-Child Home Program.
In its first year, PCHP will serve 100 families in the Sharswood section of North Philly and Southwest Philadelphia, bringing early literacy specialists into their homes to help children aged 2-4. The investment brings GreenLight Fund’s Philadelphia portfolio to over $3.6 million since 2013.
“Philadelphia is a city that faces huge challenges, including the continued growth of family poverty and limited availability of early childhood services before pre-k, particularly services accessible to English Language Learning families,” PCHP CEO Sarah Walzer said. Read more
